Sweetie Nora

This doll is just looking adorable, named Nora. She has great colours. Her mohair hair is glued on, it is in need of some hairdo.
Theese pics have been taken with my mobile phone, so they do not show the right colours. She is from Norsk celluloid industri 1948-1957.

A scar at her throat, and it is fixable... and again: Not now, but later. Think I have many doll projects going on.

New dress for Tjorven.

I always wanted a dress like this for my Tjorven doll when I was a little girl. 

I remember that I was sooo jealous at one of my friends. Only because he had a red dress for his Tjorven doll, almost like this one. That`s right, I wrote he. And he always had so beautiful clothes for his Tjorven doll. 

I thought then that life is not fair, not at all...
But now I got my own dress, and I`m happy again after all this years..tji-hi.... 

But I had to make it all by my self.
Think I`ll have to make more of theese in different colours, for to dress up some more of my dolls.

This is the most perfect Tjorven doll I got. She has never been played with. The hair is so shiny. No scratches on the skin. There is a tiny mark on one of her lower arms, I have never tried to remove it.

Little Anne doll from Lærdal dukkefabrikk

This lovely little one wanted to stay with me and my family.
Look at her chubby legs..my hearts jus melt.

Found out that I at least had to make her a new dress. Just to make her feel a little bit more welcomed at her new home.

She`s got al lovely face. Though the lipcolour has bleed out, and her hair missed and cutted some places.

Lucky her... her older cousin was at home, so they had to share their new similar dresses together. Think they are going to have a lot of fun together,

Moms doll Rine from Norsk Lettmetall AS

This old doll belonged to my mom.  I belive her original name is Tangendukka.

My mum was about 3 years old when she got it. So it had to be about 1946, right after world war II. The head of this doll is made of metal. I belive it is aluminium, but I am not sure. The head came from a dollfabric who was named Norsk Lettmetall AS.
The clothes were knitted for Rine at the same time my mom got the doll. 

As you can see she is ugly painted...And I have to admit that I did it... when i was about 7-8 years old (ca 1970). 

I snook into my elder brothers room and stole some of his enamel paint. 

I am not so happy to think about it today. But then I wanted to paint her so she could be beautiful again ...
Yeah right!!!  She really didn`t come out so well after the repainting as you can see. So I have to get rid of that ugly painting I did some years ago. No need to say I will NOT start crying....

The fabric for the body is worn out. The fabric will tear apart if you take a hard grip around the body. I may have to make her a new body... but I do not know if this will make the value of the doll going downward? Is there anybody who could get me some more information about  that? 

I played with her throughought my whole childhood. And she was also used to defense my self when me and my friends got into a quarrel... guess who won??

I, me and myself also repaired her severel times, as you can see. I was not the best in class for that either.

The outcome is: I have to do something with her.

More Ratti doll

2 more Ratti dolls.  I just love their skin colour and the turquise eyes. I would also ask you people out there if some of theese dolls got some names.. for now they are named Ratti doll 32cm, 33 cm and 40 cm.

I choose to start with this one. She looks like she is a bit grown up. She has real waist and hips. And she got a georgeus sweet strawberry mouth. she is 32 cm long.

This one is 33cm long. The body is looking more like a child. Her hair is very silky, and it has once been longer. Her eyes looks upward, like shes glanzing up in the sky.

She has the same body and tummy as my Ratti doll 40 cm, but not the same face. 

 All three together.

New dress for Anne doll

Had some fabric I thought would match her eyes. So it had to be a new dress for Anne doll.Still have to find her some shoes.

Anne Doll #1 from Lærdal dukkefabrikk in Norway.

Worn out, hair missing and a ugly little doll. She was just crying out for to get a total makeover. 

The face is so beautitful on theese dolls, But with time the colours will disappear and fade, and her skin grow yellowish, like on this doll.

There was a mark on her cheek.... 

So I made her new hair, and gave her a makeover. 

Now I think she`s a stunning beauty again. New red blond hair, new eyes and some colour in her face.

Went to a friend of mine for to see how her real eye colour was made. Had to take some photoes for to look after so I could get back her real eye colour. As you can see it is far different from the first pictures. 

The mark on her chin was so deep into the skin that I only could blend it some, with her new cheek colour. But I know that there is something I can mend later. But since I don`t have the needed remedies at my home, this is how it is going to stay until I get hold of that.  So now she need to get some new clothes so she can shine like the star she is.

I just love my hobby.

New underwear.

Made some new underwear for Tjorven Ratti doll. Still have to make dresses that fit  the era, and the underwear. In theese days they were known as the unmentionals.  So more to come.

My mum used to sing this song to me when I was little girl. It is about a doll mum and all her doings for to comfort her dolls.
Quite funny to see the song after all theese years. And it also do bring back a lot of good memories. 

Got this Anne Lise doll for christmas when I was 4,5 years old in 1968. She was named Doll Lise. It was a popular name for dolls when I was a little girl. 

I was so proud of her, and I loved her with all my heart. I was heartbroken when my mum took her for to give her a bath. The water was too warm and the nylon hair curled up in a mess, and got very frizzy. 

I didn`t love the doll so much afterwards.

Tjorven Ratti doll #5

New beauty has arrived. She was a bit dirty, and the hair was a mess. The skin is beauitful, almost not played with. Couldn`t find any scars at her.

 But her hair looked well overall after  a closer look.

So she had to go to the bath room for to take a real bath. The hair is still wet... but you can see that she is a real beauty already. Shiny hair and perfect skin. No damages at all.

The hair is dry...and oh my so shiny it is. She has also got a new clean dress on. This is the most beautiful Tjorven doll in my whole collection. She turned out to be  real Cindrella.

A little hairdo

This little missy needed a little hairdo. Her hair was in a ponytail when she came to me. I am always excited to look on the condition at the new dolls hair.

She had some tangeled hair and the hair was some frizzy. Needed to do something about it.

After the hair was dried. Beautiful, but still frizzled.

Curling it up. And waiting again.

All brushed up and voila... a stunning beauty.
