Anne Lise doll

At last I got hold of my childhood doll.
This was how she looked when she came home to me. 

 As you can see she was a little bit dirty because of her age.

So I had to undress her for to see how she looked like, and what I had to do for to clean her up. As you can see there was some hard spots, especially on her feets. 

All over the body there was some dirt, but the doll has been played with, and she is an old lady.

So I startet rubbing and cleaning her up.

The marks on the feet was hardheaded, and I thought I would never get rid of them. I thought they had come way far into the vinyl.

But after a lot of scrubbing the marks were gone. The feet went well.

The spot on her shoulder I thought was easy going. Afte a while I thought it was from the doll fabric.

The spots were hard to get rid off. But it went well after a while. I did not take picture after finished, but you can se they are gone on the spa treatment.

Then I had to give her a spa treatment. Looks likes shes enjoying it.

Now it is time for to get her hair fixed. Had to cut the hair ends overall a couple of millimeters, because the were worn out, and had very different lenghts.

Her the hair is all curled up. So I had to wait for the hair to dry.

The day after: I am excited for to see how the curling went. It look very god as far as I can see.

Combing the hair, and I just fell in love. She started to look more and more like my childhood doll.

And then it was time to put on a new dress. And voila: She`s finished. Welcom little darling to your new home.

A little but funny to se before and after. The hair is all curled up, the skin is lighter, and all free of dirt and other spots..

Ready for Autumn and some colder days.

It is windy outside and the Autumn has arrived.  I knitted some clothes for to go outside and play and have some fun. Anne Lise doll got some new clothes to wear for theese cold days that are arriving.

 Even got a small pair of mittens with thumbs.

Made a dress out of my old shirt.Think it came out very well.

Earlier I`ve also crocheted a a dress for the same doll.

Anne Lise #1

I could not just walk by this little darling. She was in desperate need of  help, in any way. I suppose some little girl almost had once loved her to death.

Startet to get rid of all her hair, and take out her eyes.

Eyes gone, and the bulk in her forehead is gone.

Sewed on new hair, and putted in some new eyes.

The hair was still too long, so I had to cut it some.

Here she is. So pretty. With a new look and a new dress.

I suppose she`s feeling a little bit more comfortable now?

I have also crocheted the dress for her.

My mum used to sing this song to me when I was little girl. It is about a doll mum and all her doings for to comfort her dolls.
Quite funny to see the song after all theese years. And it also do bring back a lot of good memories. 

Got this Anne Lise doll for christmas when I was 4,5 years old in 1968. She was named Doll Lise. It was a popular name for dolls when I was a little girl. 

I was so proud of her, and I loved her with all my heart. I was heartbroken when my mum took her for to give her a bath. The water was too warm and the nylon hair curled up in a mess, and got very frizzy. 

I didn`t love the doll so much afterwards.
