A little doll from Rayco doll fabric: liten krølltopp

Went to a flea marked a  while ago. Found this little one, in desperat need of help. Suppose she has been to a party and ended up in a doll fight. Two black eyes was the result. So I felt sorry for her, I just had to bring her home.

I had to strip off all the eye colour.  Some of theese dolls are made with blue eyes like this one, and some are made with brown eyes.You can see the blue shines through.   I decided to go for brown eyes.

And she also had some blue colour in the hair. I could not manage to get rid of all the blue colour, so I also decided to give her more hair colour too. and a little touch of lipstick.

This doll is a really heavy weighter, and hard to chrush. Some kind of rubber like skin. Probably from the 60ties or early 70ties. I`m not sure. So please help  my Norwegian friends.

When done, she lent a dress from one of the others. I threw away her old party clothes ...hi-hi..

Pusle reerooted.

I just had to reeroot this Pusle doll. 

Cut off her hair and go on. There are too much of the blond Pusle dolls.  

Bald and hairless.

I wanted to make me a brunette. This is during the prosess.

 Way too much hair.

At the hair dresser. The hair is combed, but still too much.

Have to give her a real hair cut, and curl the hair once more.

And  a little bit of lipstick.

Two small Ratti dolls 8"

Got hold of two small Ratti dolls 8": Little sister and her Couisin. This is what they are named in Norway. But I am sure that this is not their originally name.
Here they are finished taking their first bath along with other friends.

Laying on their bellies so the water can drip off.

Not so much adjustment for theese eyes. But I could not get rid of the yellow blur on the eye apple.

Socket on theese eyes were broken. 

Out with the eyes.

Testing out how the new eyes will be on the dolls. Iam satisfied, so there are only adjustment of the eyes left.

Little sister still have some stains of red on her forehead. 

Newly washes and clean dresses

But of course I just had to dress them up with newly sewed dresses.So now they are ready to meet the other dolls in the family.

Horsman doll Pippi Longstocking

This little doll really deserves new hair. I have seen theese dolls once and then, but never really liked her.
But when I got hold of this little one, I thoght "What the heck". I just had to help her a little bit. As you can see the hair is really messy, and worn out.

I had some deep carrot red hair laying. So it was just to start up. And along the way of sewing new hair on, I kind of started to like her more and more.

Here I am finished rooting the hair. But it is still way too long for her.

So she went off to the hairdresser. Looks like she is very satisfied with the outcome. On the picture below, is the real colour of the hair. I took a lot of pictures with and without blitz, it was difficult to get the right colour of the hair. On the pictures above, the colour is too light.

Tjorven #9 reerooting of her hair.

This Tjorven started as a redhead with braids. She goes under the name of Pippi Longstocking. The hair was short all over,except for the braids. Someone once cutted off the braids. The red colour suits her well.

But when you turn her around you can see a big bold spot, which is impossible to hide. 

So I decided to reeroot her. I took out all her old hair. You can see the plugholes behind her ears are tighter than the others. That is where her braids were located.

I decided to give her another colour than she had before. I chose Auburn for her new colour.

Here I am finished rooting the hair. 

Then she had to go to the hairdresser for to cut the lenght of  the hair.

Finished cutting the hair. The cutting went well. But she does not have real divided bangs sewn from the fabric. I used the old plugholes. So the hair won`t stay in place at the front.

This is from the back. I have also sewn on som extra hairplugs on the bold spot. From the back the hair is looking well.

At last I found the right way on the "Tjorven curls". It looks like Tjorvens ordinary curling.

But when you turn her around: This is from the front. The bangs won`t stay in place. I have used some hairspray.... but I am not still satisfied. Now I wonder if I am going to cut the hair short all over, except from where the braids were located. I haven`t decided to do it yet, but I have to think of it for a while.

The first picture is before the hairspray were added.

The next two pictures are after the hairspray. Maybe I have to try to curl the hair first, for to see how the new curls will be located. or maybe I have to make her divided bangs and put in some more hair plugs.

What wig to choose for my Mary Hoyer doll?

Decisions...decisions...the anguis of decisions.

What kind of wig to choose for my Mary Hoyer doll.

The only wig I had at home when the doll arrived was a black one, rich of curls. She looks like taken out of a movie from the 40ties. And you`ll think of an old black and white film with lots of love in.

I ordered two more wigs while the doll was travelling through the postal system. One in carrot red and one light brown.

 Georgeous  red colour. But is it too much? Again I am not sure if this is the right colour for the doll.... 

 Lovely light brown wig, and a natural hair colour. Many peoples would choose it because of the natural look.

Sometimes it is really hard to be a doll lover. What is the right thing to do in this case? After all she came to me with no wig ever glued on.
I tried to look out for other Hoyer dolls on internet, and I could not find a real answer.  And it is really hard to find an originally Mary Hoyer wig, which is double stitched. The nearest I came, was a wig for The Toni Ideal doll. But I didn`t like the hairstyle on theese wigs.
So I went on discussing with my self.... I tried the three wigs on the doll, and went on arguing and discussing with my self.
At last I made up my mind. I chose it because of the colours of the reddish hair. It is a lovely bright colour. You can do so much with the haircolour when you are taking photoes. And I just love it. I know some of you is not accepting that I did choose a so unusual colour for her.
I love the colour, and she is now a smashing redhaired woman.
