Decorative potholders

This is some of the few things I have from my Grandmother. She died about ten years ago.
She loved to crochet. I remember that she used to to do Irish crocheting, wich I think is very difficult. And she used to sell, and also give theese as a gift to her friends. Theese potholders are only ment for decoration.
Theese potholders are inside for dolls, Right?

The Christmas spirit.

The dolls have already started to celebrate Christmas. They have decorated the Christmas tree and are singing Christmas songs. It is delightful to listen at. And Tjorven is so excited.
Tjorven and Tjorven has started to decorate the Christmas tree.

Toni came along just to inspect what theese two rascals are doing. Because if she don`t follow them up, they are able to tear down the house.

 Singing Silent night.

And even some of Tonis friend from US came along for to join their Christmas spirit.

Merry Christmas to all of you all around the world. My hope for Christmas and years to come: May there be peace all around the world, and all the killing must stop. Because it is really enough now. Nobody should die  for no reason at all. Let us all be friends for now and forever.

Christmasdress

Made a dress for Christmas. It suits the Toni doll well. The red fabric is heavy satin. The laces are some leftovers from other stuff I`ve made.

Ideal Toni #1

This is an Ideal Toni P-90. She is 14".
I felt in love with this doll because of her eyes. It is a little tint of brown or grey around her eyes, and I just adore it. The only thing she needs is to be restringed, and do something about her hair.
Never mind, I love her eyes ..hi-hi...
And of course when there is a new doll is in the house, I need to do some cloth making. I bought some fabric a while ago. The fabric were made as a curtain.... but what the heck, I have never been able to throw away some beautiful fabric, because it has been used for something else. So I found the scissor and started to cut the fabric.

It was more fabric to use.... I wanted to make her a real negligee from about 1950, with some real swing.

And then Tjorven came along. She immediately felt in love and had to try it on too. But of course she is an 10" and the negligee is way too long for her.

New parcel for me :)

So excited .... I was waiting sooo much for this little darling. And at last...
Open the box... and a little sneekpeek.... Just look at the lovely colour of the hair.
Tear off some more paper... and there she is
A new walker doll, listed as a 1950's hard plastic walker, signed with 170 on the back, and
Made in USA. So now I got two beautiful walker dolls from the same factory.

I felt in love the first time I saw her.
I knew I just needed to buy her. Gorgeus hair colour.  Just a beautiful example of an old walker doll.

Have to get her styled and put on some old clothes... I see the clothes she is going to wear in my head. So I have to make them for her.
Also have to get her hair done later.

Look at theese to lovely sweeties, just adorable.
When I was a little girl, I wanted dolls like theese two. I`ll come back later and tell you how that stoy ended...
For now on I am just going to sit down and let my eyes sweep in theese two lovely ladies for the rest of the evening.

New dress for a big doll or a toddler

Had some curtains that were way too long. Couldn`t throw the leftovers.  Figured I had to make something of the fabric.
The skirt is still not atattched
Front
 Back, still missing some buttons.
Tadaaa...

Tjorven #4

A doll that came from the factory with a deep scar on her scalp. I suppose that `s why she did have less and thinner hair than other similar dolls. One of her eyes was also in need of some caring.

The scar: An open wound, about 2-2,5 cm long. I had to glue it so I could sew on some more hair. This spot did not have hair at all.

More hairplugs.

After mending her eye, the crack is gone and I putted on new eyelashes. I se the eyelashes on the cracked eye needs some trimming. Will do it later.
The hair is the originally lenght. A few strands were longer, so I had to even out the hair too. In this picture I have rooted the hair, and it is thicker than it was before. I did not remember to take photoes of her from behind before I started rooting the hair. I kept the originally hair, and putted on some more plugs all over her head.

Finished rooting her hair. You can see where the old hair was cutted.

Braided her hair, and did not do anything more for a while.

Thought she was a biker girl, so I had to put on some new shoes with chains on and high heels.

After I took out the braid.

A happy little girl after all.
