Theese two Tjorven dolls are ready for to go outside and have fun in the snow.

Knitted sweaters for theese two girls. I used knitting needles 1,5mm. And of course they had to get som real Norwegian sweaters.
This is a Setesdal sweater.
And here is a Fana sweater.

And of course I had to knit some mittens too. They are knitted in the Selbu pattern.

Fantasy Folkdress or Bunad

Tried to make a Folkdress or Bunad as we call it here in Norway. Was a bit tricky to put it on a doll with stiff arms. So I had to make some adjustments on the dress for to dress the doll in an easy way. But somehow this is how it came out.
Here I am testing the dress. Still at  my sewing room.
Made a blouse too. And finished the dress with apron and bonnet. I am very satisfied with how the dress came out. Think I am going to make more of theese dresses.
A little flower on both sides of the bonnet.

Tangen doll - tin head

This doll was my mothers, she got it right after World war II. I have mentioned the doll earlier on this blog.
Her head is made of tin.
Her body was worned out and the fabric was in really bad shape. And when I was a little girl I stole som paint from my brother, and I gave the doll a real makeover. That did not go well as you can see.

Found out that I had to do something about it. So in  the summer (2016) I startet to take off all the bad paint with a paint remover.
It took a while, but the weather was good, and the beer was cold and tasty. I had plenty of time to sit outside in the sun, and let the paintremover do its job :)
All the bad painting is gone.
The shoulder plate was some damaged to. So I had to remake it. She has after all went through some fights during her lifetime.
I sanded down the plaster I had on, but I forgot to take a picture of it.
Almost finihed painting the head.
Got hold of a body pattern, but it was too small for the doll. Started looking up for another body pattern. But it was also too small. So I went on designing my own body pattern. And that one fitted the head well.
I also got hold of some new arms for the doll. I had some legs too that I thought I could use, but they were a little bit too small for her.
The dark spots on the body is a nylon sock filled with glass beads. Sadly you can see it through the fabric. And the head is still not attached to the body.
Started to sew on the head. Note to myself: Next time start to attach the head on the back first. Had some difficulties with the sewing needle and the last stitches.

At last finished. Some new clothes on. And she is ready for to join the other dolls in the family.
